EMA 20 Retest Entry Indicator
Author: AlgoTim
Type: Indicator
Platform: TradingView (Pine Script)
Access: Private / Invite-Only
Overview
The EMA 20 Retest Entry Indicator is a precision entry tool for TradingView developed by AlgoTim. It is built around one of the most reliable and time-tested trading concepts: the EMA 20 retest.
When price pulls back to the 20-period Exponential Moving Average after a strong trend move, it creates a high-probability entry opportunity. This indicator automatically detects those retest moments and generates clean buy/sell signals — so you never miss a valid EMA 20 setup again.
Ideal for traders who want a simple, proven, and systematic approach to trend-following entries across any market.

Trading Logic
The indicator is based on the classic EMA 20 Retest entry strategy:
1. EMA 20 Calculation — A 20-period Exponential Moving Average is plotted on the chart as the dynamic support/resistance line.
2. Trend Direction Check — The indicator identifies whether price is in an uptrend or downtrend relative to the EMA 20.
3. Retest Detection — When price pulls back to touch or approach the EMA 20 from the trend side, the retest condition is triggered.
4. Signal Confirmation — A buy signal is generated on a bullish candle confirming the retest in an uptrend. A sell signal fires on a bearish candle confirming the retest in a downtrend.
5. Signal Lock — All signals are locked on bar close and do not repaint.
This is a trend-following, mean-reversion entry strategy — entering on pullbacks within the direction of the dominant trend.
